I've been sailing the seedy seas of internet piracy for many years now. I was into Napster before it was on the news, I found Kazaa and Morpheus before they were filled with crap and viruses, I jumped on the torrent bandwagon before the RIAA started randomly suing people for using the default ports that torrent software uses. My upload is measured in terabytes and I always upload to at least a 5.0 ratio, sometimes up to over 100.0. Now I find myself studying to become a game designer, my dream is to make a living in an industry that I've been stealing from for years. Does that make me a bad person? Should I stop downloading software? I've been thinking about this for awhile now and I really can't come to an answer. I've never downloaded out of malice, or because I thought that these people that toil away at their craft don't deserve the residuals they get form the games, but out of my desire to play games without having the financial backing to buy every game that strikes my fancy. But does that really justify it? Or should I just get a job and save up like a good little wage worker? Oh morality, why are you such a burden sometimes?
