"She says, 'Hey,
I rock the Haro sport,
I rock the cow girl blues,
I rock too fast for love.
I’m footloose in my Velcro shoes.
What’s up with Will & Grace?
I don’t get drum and bass.
The future freaks me out.'"
And it really, really does. We don't know what's gonna happen in a year, in an hour, not even within the next second with total certainty. It hardly seems fair at all that we can invest countless hours of our time, our very blood, sweat, and tears into something that we believe in and it can go up in smoke in a heartbeat, but that's what life is, isn't it? All the little changes that can happen to us in between surges of blood. A note held for 3 minutes isn't music, it's how that note changes that turns it into a song. Time spent building up something that falls apart was not time wasted, every single second of your life is all an important part in the equation that equals your last second of consciousness. I won't be around forever, but I'd like to think that I made an impression on the lives of the people around me.
